Forstaf Injection is a strong antibacterial medicine used to treat serious and complicated infections, especially those caused by bacteria that no longer respond to common antibiotics. It belongs to a group of medicines called glycopeptide antibiotics, which work by stopping the growth of harmful bacteria in the body. The active ingredient in this medicine is vancomycin, a powerful antibiotic reserved for severe infections that require careful monitoring.

Forstaf Injection crosses the placenta and enters the unborn baby and may cause harmful effects, but it is not known to produce any birth defects. However, as Vancomycin is a lifesaving medicine and hence is used during pregnancy if it is necessary. Please consult your doctor.
Forstaf Injection secreted in breast milk and breastfeeding has to be discontinued while using this medicine to prevent any harm to the baby.
Forstaf Injection Injection does not usually affect the ability to drive.
Alcohol can cause side effects similar to those of Forstaf Injection, such as stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness.Thus, it is better to avoid it to reduce the intensity of side effects.

Inform your doctor immediately in case of overdose. High doses can cause kidney and hearing problems. Treatment is based on the symptoms and medical attention may be necessary.
Take the missed dose as early as you remember. Skip the missed dose & do not take extra medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
Forstaf Injection affects the bacterial-cell-membrane and RNA synthesis and kills the bacteria (bactericidal). This medicine primarily inhibits bacterial cell-wall biosynthesis leading to reduction of infection.
The safety and effectiveness of Forstaf Injection in children has not been established.
Dosage adjustment may be necessary for elderly with impaired kidney functions. Thus, do not take this medicine without discussing with your doctor.
Your doctor will prescribe a dose as per your clinical condition. You should not stop this medicine abruptly.
Forstaf Injection is not active against infections due to gram-negative bacilli, mycobacteria, or fungi. Your doctor might give you another antibiotic for the same.
There is no cross-resistance between Forstaf Injection and other antibiotics.
