Betaspan Capsule is an anti-anginal medicine. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, heart-related chest pain, and hypertrophic subaortic stenosis (a disorder of heart muscle). It is also used to prevent heart attacks, tremors, and migraines.
Betaspan Capsule contains propranolol as its main component. It works by relaxing the blood vessels, which slows down the pulse, thus improving the blood flow and decreasing the blood pressure. It should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed.
It should preferably be taken before meals. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Also, inform about all the medicines and supplements you take and about your medical history before starting Betaspan Capsule.
Always take Betaspan Capsule as directed by the doctor. Swallow it whole, with a glass of water before your meals. Do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results. Do not consume more than the quantity prescribed by your doctor.
Betaspan Capsule is not recommended during pregnancy. However, your doctor may give you this medicine only if it is needed and its benefits outweigh the risks. Betaspan Capsule is not recommended while breastfeeding as it can pass into breast milk. You should consult your doctor before using this medicine during breastfeeding.
Betaspan Capsule may cause dizziness or tiredness. If you experience any such effects after taking this medicine that may affect your ability to drive safely, it is suggested to avoid driving.
Betaspan Capsule may lower the blood pressure when taken with alcohol; therefore, you should avoid alcohol intake with this medicine.

The symptoms of an overdose of Betaspan Capsule include confusion, nausea, vomiting, and low blood sugar. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you missed any dose of Betaspan Capsule take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
Betaspan Capsule relaxes blood vessels and slows down the heart rate, which in turn reduces strain on the heart muscles.
Dizziness or drowsiness is normal with this medicine. You shoud consult your doctor if it persists for longer than expected.
