This product is a sterile, non-absorbable surgical suture composed of natural silk. The suture is a braided filament derived from the cocoon of the silk worm, Bombyx mori. It is coated with beeswax to facilitate handling and knot tying.
The suture is black in color and has a diameter corresponding to USP size 2-0. The suture length is 76cm. It is supplied with a 25mm, 1/2 circle tapercut needle, designed for penetration through tissue.
The suture is intended for prolonged retention, maintaining its tensile strength for approximately three months post-implantation. This product is packaged in foils for sterility maintenance.
