This product is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture designed for wound closure. It is composed of a synthetic absorbable polymer, specifically Polyglactin-910, which is coated with an antibacterial agent, Triclosan. The suture material is violet in color and is presented in a USP size of 3-0.
Each suture strand measures 90 centimeters in length. The suture is pre-attached to a 36-millimeter needle, which is a 1/2 circle taper cutting type, suitable for penetrating tissue with minimal trauma. The product is supplied in a box containing 12 individual foil-wrapped units, ensuring sterility until the point of use.
The absorbable nature of this suture means it is gradually broken down by the body over time, eliminating the need for removal.
