The Aqmen AMP2347DN is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture designed for wound closure. It is constructed from a braided copolymer of lactide and glycolide, specifically Polyglactin-910, which is coated with a mixture of Polyglactin-37 and Calcium Stearate. This coating enhances the suture's handling characteristics, providing a smooth passage through tissue and reducing drag.
The suture material incorporates Triclosan, an antimicrobial agent, to help minimize the risk of surgical site infections. Each unit contains a 140 cm length of USP size 1 suture, which is violet in color for improved visibility during surgical procedures. The suture is double-armed with a 40 mm, 1/2 circle, heavy gauge, round body, taper cutting needle.
This needle design is suitable for penetrating tough tissues. The product is supplied in boxes containing 12 individual foil-wrapped sterile units.
