Aqmen - AM4279 - Sutures AM4279 AqGut Catgut Type USP 0-12 Foils

The Aqmen AM4279 is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture designed for tissue approximation and ligation. This product is constructed from purified collagen derived from the serosal layer of bovine intestines, treated to induce a uniform chromic treatment. This treatment enhances its tensile strength retention and prolongs its absorption period.

The suture is presented in a USP size 0 gauge, with a length of 100 centimeters. Each foil contains a single strand of suture material. The suture is pre-attached to a 40 millimeter needle, specifically a 1/2 circle taper cutting heavy point needle.

This needle type is characterized by its triangular cross-section with three cutting edges, designed for penetrating dense tissues, and its taper cutting point is suitable for tissues that require a sharp needle but are not excessively tough. The needle's curvature facilitates ease of manipulation in various surgical fields. The product is supplied in a box containing 12 individual foil-wrapped suture-needle combinations, ensuring sterility until the point of use.

The absorbable nature of this suture means it is gradually broken down by enzymatic action within the body, eliminating the need for suture removal in many applications. The expected wound support duration for this suture is approximately 21 days, after which its tensile strength will have significantly diminished.
