Agopride Depot Injection contains leuprorelin (leuprolide), a synthetic GnRH analogue that suppresses testosterone in men and estrogen in women after continuous administration. It is used for prostate cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and central precocious puberty in children. By lowering sex hormone levels, it helps control hormone-dependent disease progression and related symptoms such as pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, or early sexual development.
Agopride Depot Injection is administered by a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. It must not be used in patients allergic to leuprorelin or other GnRH analogues such as goserelin or triptorelin, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in women with unexplained vaginal bleeding. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis risk factors, liver problems, urinary obstruction, or a history of seizures.
Initial treatment may temporarily worsen symptoms due to hormone flare. Long-term use may cause bone thinning. Blood sugar, lipids, liver function, and heart rhythm may change.
Common side effects include hot flushes, headache, mood changes, joint pain, decreased libido, nausea, fatigue, and injection site reactions.

Agopride Depot Injection works by acting on a small gland in the brain called the pituitary gland, which controls the production of sex hormones. Normally, this gland sends signals that tell the body to produce testosterone in men and estrogen in women. When treatment starts, hormone levels may briefly increase. With continued use, the medicine reduces these signals and lowers hormone production significantly. Many conditions such as prostate cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and early puberty depend on these hormones to grow or progress. By lowering hormone levels, the medicine helps slow disease progression and reduces related symptoms. In children with early puberty, it helps delay further physical changes until a more appropriate age.
