Lisifen Tablet is an anti-rheumatic medicine used in adults to treat active rheumatoid arthritis and active psoriatic arthritis. It helps reduce joint inflammation, swelling, pain, and stiffness, and can improve movement and physical function over time. In psoriatic arthritis, it also helps control joint symptoms associated with skin lesions.
This medicine is usually prescribed for long-term use, as its full benefits may take several weeks to months to become noticeable. Lisifen works by suppressing overactive immune responses that cause inflammation in autoimmune conditions. The active substance interferes with the production of immune cells involved in joint damage, thereby slowing disease progression and reducing symptoms.
By controlling immune-mediated inflammation, Lisifen helps protect joints from further damage and improves overall quality of life in patients with chronic inflammatory arthritis. Lisifen Tablet should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food.
Swallow the Tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew it. Treatment often starts with a higher dose for a short period, followed by a lower daily maintenance dose depending on your condition and response. Regular blood tests and blood pressure checks are required during treatment to monitor liver function, blood cells, and overall safety.
Like all medicines, Lisifen may cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, hair thinning, skin rash, and mild increases in blood pressure or liver enzymes. Serious allergic skin reactions and liver problems are rare but require immediate medical attention.
Contact your doctor promptly if you notice unusual tiredness, persistent fever, breathing problems, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or severe skin reactions.
