Dysnilox Tablet is an antibiotic medicine. It contains a combination of norfloxacin and tinidazole. It is used for the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery caused due to bacteria, amoeba or other microorganisms.
Diarrhoea is a condition of passing three or more loose or liquid stools per day. It is usually a symptom of infection due to a bacteria, parasite, amoeba or other organisms. Dysnilox Tablet works by killing the microorganisms that cause infection.
The dose, frequency and duration of the treatment are decided by your doctor. This medicine should be taken at least 1 hour before or at least 2 hours after a meal or ingestion of milk and/or other dairy products. Diarrhoea or dysentery is usually caused due to contaminated food or drinking-water, or from person to person as a result of poor hygiene.
Regular hand washing, consuming safe drinking water and maintaining good personal and food hygiene should be followed while taking this medicine to prevent the spread of infection. You should also consume plenty of liquid to combat dehydration due to diarrhoea. Before initiating the treatment inform your doctor about all the medicines and supplements you are taking and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from.
Dysnilox Tablet is not recommended in patients below 18 years of age.
Swallow Dysnilox Tablet as a whole with sufficient water. Do not break, cut or chew this medicine. You should take this medicine regularly at a fixed time and as directed by your doctor. Do not consume it more than the quantity prescribed by your doctor.
Dysnilox Tablet should be avoided during pregnancy as there is limited information about its safety in human pregnancy. You should consult your doctor if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a child before starting this medicine.
Dysnilox Tablet passes into human milk and could harm the breastfed baby. Hence, this medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding. You should consult your doctor before using this medicine during breastfeeding.
Dysnilox Tablet may make you dizzy and feel sleepy; you should avoid driving if you do not feel well or are unable to be alert.
Alcohol and other preparations containing ethanol or propylene glycol should be avoided during treatment with Dysnilox Tablet and 3 days following the treatment. It may produce symptoms like stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, headache, and skin redness.

It would help if you never missed your dose of Dysnilox Tablet as it may lead to treatment failure. If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember.
