Xygrel Tablet is used to reduce heart-related conditions such as heart failure in patients with pre-existing heart conditions. Xygrel Tablet contains ticagrelor as the active ingredient and is commonly referred to as a blood thinner or antiplatelet medication. Ticagrelor is recognised for its ability to prevent the formation of new blood clots, thereby aiding smooth blood flow through the vessels.
Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor for the recommended duration. Do not miss or skip a dose of this medication. You may experience bleeding, difficulty bleeding, or headaches while on this medication.
If these symptoms worsen, contact the nearest doctor or clinic. Avoid contact with sharp objects, as this can lead to excessive bleeding; for example, knives, blades, scissors, axes, etc.
Excess ingestion of Xygrel Tablet may cause excessive bleeding from different parts of the body. If you have taken too much of this medicine, then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
Take Xygrel Tablet as soon as you remember if you have missed a dose. If the missed dose falls at the time of your next scheduled dose, then skip it. Do not make up for the missed dose by taking a double dose.
Ticagrelor is an antiplatelet medicine. It prevents the formation of a blood clot by not allowing the platelets to stick together in the blood. This prevents clot formation and blockage of important vessels in the heart or other parts of the body.
Xygrel Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Take it at a fixed time for optimal results. Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
It should not be used during pregnancy as it may cause harm to the unborn baby. Thus it is not recommended to use Xygrel Tablet if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Women should use appropriate contraceptive measures to avoid pregnancy while taking this medicine.
The components of this medicine pass into the breastmilk in small amounts and may affect the breastfed baby. A breastfeeding mother should take this medicine only under the doctor's recommendation. If prescribed, then close monitoring of the breastfed infant is advised for the symptoms of bruising and bleeding.
Generally, ticagrelor does not affect the ability to drive, but if you feel confused or dizzy after taking this, do not drive.
Avoid consuming alcohol while undergoing treatment with this medicine as it increases the risk of bleeding from the intestine and stomach.

This medication does increase the risk of bleeding. Always exercise care when engaging in activities that could result in injury or bleeding. Notify your doctor immediately if you observe any unusual bruising or bleeding.
In addition to bleeding-related concerns, several other side effects are associated with blood thinners, such as nausea and low blood cell counts. A low blood cell count can lead to fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Be cautious when mixing medications.
Do not cease taking Xygrel without first consulting your doctor. Stopping this medication due to bleeding or other reasons may increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue this medication five days before surgery.
