TorSinol 20mg Tablet is a medicine that helps to remove extra fluid from your body. It contains torasemide, which belongs to a group of medicines called diuretics or “water pills.” This medicine helps reduce swelling in the legs, ankles, or other parts of the body that may occur due to heart, kidney, or liver problems.
It also helps control high blood pressure by removing excess salt and water from the body. You should take TorSinol 20mg Tablet exactly as advised by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, preferably at the same time each day.
It can be taken with or without food, but try to take it in the morning to reduce nighttime urination. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you start feeling better. Stopping it abruptly may worsen your condition or cause a sudden rise in blood pressure.
Before starting TorSinol 20mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or prostate problems or if you are taking any other medicines. Your doctor may also check your blood pressure and electrolyte levels regularly to make sure the medicine is working safely for you. If you notice symptoms like dizziness, dehydration, muscle cramps, or an irregular heartbeat, let your doctor know immediately, as these may be signs of a fluid or salt imbalance caused by the medicine.
Torsinol Tablet should not be used during pregnancy as there is limited information about its safety. If you are pregnant or think you may be or are planning for a baby, you should consult the doctor.
It is unknown if Torsinol Tablet passes into human milk and its effects on the breastfed baby. Hence, it should not be used in breastfeeding as the medicine might decrease milk production.
Torsinol Tablet may make you dizzy and hence avoid driving if you feel unwell or unable to be alert.
Avoid alcohol during the treatment as it may lower your blood pressure and may lead to side effects like dizziness or drowsiness. Also, in conditions of kidney failure, heart failure and liver problems, alcohol is known to worsen the diseased state. Therefore, it should be better avoided.
Talk to your doctor if
If you missed a dose, take Torsinol Tablet as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Avoid a double dose for the missed dose.
Torasemide acts on the kidneys to eliminate the excess water and salt from the body. It removes excess water, salt from the body and does not affect the electrolyte and acid-base balance of the body.
No, you should never stop taking Torsinol Tablet until advised by the doctor, even if you are feeling good. If you stop the medicine, it may lead to treatment failure and a sudden rise in blood pressure thus result worsening the medical condition.
Dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting occurs, when you get up suddenly from a lying or sitting position. Slowly getting up helps. If the problem continues or gets worse, check with the doctor.
