Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml is an antibiotic medication indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. This formulation is specifically designed for pediatric use and requires administration under adult supervision. It can be given with or without food; however, administration with food is recommended to enhance absorption and minimize the potential for stomach upset.
The prescribing doctor determines the exact dose and frequency based on the type and severity of the infection, as well as the child's age and body weight. Adherence to the prescribed dose, schedule, and method of administration is essential. If a child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, allow them to settle, then repeat the same dose.
If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, a double dose should not be given to compensate for the missed one. Potential side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and allergic reactions. These effects are typically mild and temporary.
Should they persist or worsen, prompt consultation with the child's doctor is advised. It is crucial to inform the doctor about the child's complete medical history, including any prior allergies, heart conditions, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstruction, lung problems, gastrointestinal issues, skin conditions, or liver and kidney disorders. This information facilitates appropriate dose adjustment and safe, effective treatment planning.
Symptoms of an overdose include stomach disturbances, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness and fluid retention. If you have given too much of Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml to your child, contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
It is advised not to miss any dose of antibiotics as it can affect the treatment regimen. If you have missed giving any dose of Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml , then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml works by the combined action of both its components - amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin works by killing the bacteria responsible for infections. However, the bacteria make the enzyme (beta-lactamases) which can destroy amoxicillin. Clavulanic acid inactivates this enzyme and hence helps amoxicillin to perform its function.
Consult a doctor if:
Yes, diarrhoea is a common side effect during treatment with Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml . However, if your child is experiencing persistent diarrhoea, seek advice from your doctor immediately.
Never give Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml if your child is allergic to penicillin. Serious side effects can result in the same. Always consult your doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Amiza Dry Syrup 30ml can start showing its effect approximately after 1 hour of its consumption. However, it varies among individuals and can also vary due to the severity of the infection. As it is an antibiotic medicine, the complete effect towards the infection could be seen after the course completion of the antibiotic treatment.
