Prolet 25 Tablet

Prolet 25 tablet is an anti-convulsant or anti-epileptic medicine. It is used for the treatment and prevention of seizures (fits) in people who suffer from epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterised by abnormal behaviour & sensation, loss of consciousness and uncontrolled movements.

Prolet 25 tablet contains Primidone as its active ingredient. It acts by reducing the abnormal electrical activity of neurons in the brain. Few people develop thoughts of self-harm after taking this medicine or similar medicines, inform your doctor immediately if at any time you have these thoughts.

Prolet 25 tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Dosage

Overdose

If you accidentally take the Prolet 25 tablet more than your normal dose, contact your doctor or visit your nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed taking a dose of the Prolet 25 tablet, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Breast Feeding

Driving

Prolet 25 tablet can make you feel dizzy. It is not advised to drive after taking this medicine.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

• You ever had respiratory, kidney or liver-related problems.

• Frequency of your seizures increases or if seizures of a different type appear.
• You develop ulcers in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals and conjunctivitis (red and swollen eyes) after taking this medicine.
• You experience any kind of rashes, blisters on your skin after taking this medicine.

• If you are allergic to primidone or any other ingredient of Prolet 25 tablet.
• If you have a blood-related disorder called porphyria.
