Esonium 20mg Tablets is used to treat acid reflux disease, stomach and intestinal ulcers, and to eradicate a bacteria known as H. Pylori to reduce the risk of intestinal ulcers. It is also used in treating a condition called Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, characterised by excessive stomach acid production due to tumours in the pancreas.
Esonium 20mg Tablets contains esomeprazole as the active ingredient. It works by lowering acid production in the stomach. Esonium 20mg Tablets should be taken in doses and for a duration as advised by the doctor or pharmacist.
It is preferably taken on an empty stomach, one hour before a meal. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor of your complete medical history.
Esonium 20mg Tablets should be used during pregnancy only under the recommendation of a doctor after assessing if this medicine is beneficial and will not have any risk to the unborn child.

Symptoms of overdose include weakness and stomach discomfort. If you think you have taken too much of Esonium 20mg Tablets , contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you missed any dose of Esonium 20mg Tablets , take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
Esomeprazole in Esonium 20mg Tablets works by reducing the intake of certain ions in the stomach wall that are necessary for the production of digestive acids in the stomach, and thereby lowering the acid secretion.
