Cifilac Dry Syrup contains Cefixime as its active ingredient which is an antibiotic. It belongs to the "Cephalosporin" class of medicine. This medicine is being used for the treatment of bacterial infection of the throat/neck, lungs, ear, urinary tract and skin.
It works by inhibiting the formation of the cell wall and kill the various susceptible bacterial organisms. This medicine is designed to be used only by children. It should not be used for children above 18 years of age.
You need to dissolve the powder in sterile water given along by following the directions and shake it well. Give this Dry Syrup as prescribed and for the prescribed duration to your child. The common side effects of Cifilac Dry Syrup is diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and gas.
If you feel the side effects persist or the condition of your child worsens, you should contact your doctor immediately.

If you have missed to give any dose of Cifilac Dry Syrup then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
Cefixime in Cifilac Dry Syrup acts by inhibiting the formation and growth of bacterial cell wall which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria responsible for causing infection.
The reconstituted suspension of Cifilac Dry Syrup should be stored in refrigerator. Content should be used within 7 days. Later, discard off the remaining portion of medicine.
If your child vomits within 30 minutes of administering Cifilac Dry Syrup, you need to give the same dose again.
