Glibet Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine containing glibenclamide (also known as glyburide) as its active ingredient. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. While taking this medicine, you should be cautious about your diet and exercise regularly.
Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers must not use Glibet Tablet. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents. It should be taken as directed by the doctor, at the correct doses, and for the exact duration prescribed.
It should be taken just before or with food. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to. Before using Glibet Tablet, inform the doctor about your detailed medical history.
Glibet Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It should be taken with food. It would be best if you take it at a fixed time for optimal results and not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Glibet Tablet must not be used during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or think you may be or are planning for a baby, you should consult your doctor before starting this medicine.
Glibenclamide may pass into breast milk, thus Glibet Tablet should not be used while breastfeeding.
It is unsafe to consume alcohol while on treatment with Glibet Tablet. Alcohol lowers blood sugar which can be dangerous and can also alter the action of this medicine.
Talk to your doctor if
In case you’ve missed taking any dose of the Glibet Tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Avoid taking a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
Glibenclamide in Glibet Tablet works by stimulating the release of insulin from your pancreas, thus reducing your blood sugar levels.
Glibet Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Glibet Tablet should be taken just before or with your meal. Do not skip meals while taking this medicine. Take your dose at the same time each day for maximum results.
Headache, dizziness, nausea and low blood sugar level are a few common side effects of Glibet Tablet. However, these symptoms are usually mild and resolve on their own. Also, it is not important that everyone experience the same.
