Cefo Plus Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that contains cefixime and ofloxacin as the active components. This Suspension is used to treat bacterial infections in the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, bones and joints, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract in children. Cefixime stops bacterial growth by preventing the production of the protective layer, known as the cell wall of the bacteria.
Ofloxacin, on the other hand, interacts with the genetic material of bacteria and halts their growth. Together, these molecules inhibit bacterial growth and the spread of infection. Cefo Plus Suspension is available by prescription.
Your child's doctor will determine the dose and duration for using Cefo Plus Suspension. You should not give your child a lesser or greater amount of medicine than recommended by their doctor. This medicine can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, restlessness, stomach pain, or dizziness as side effects.
If these effects persist, you must take your child to a doctor.

Overdose may result in confusion, dizziness, loss of consciousness, and seizures. Contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately, in case of overdose.
Unless your child's doctor has recommended otherwise, you can administer the missed dosage as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not give a double dose to make up for missed doses; instead, stick to the suggested dosing schedule.
Cefo Plus Suspension contains two molecules: cefixime and ofloxacin. Both molecules work to eliminate bacteria. Cefixime inhibits the formation of the bacterial protective layer (cell wall), while ofloxacin interacts directly with the bacteria's genetic material. The bacteria responsible for the infection stop growing, and the spread of the infection is halted.
No, you should stick to the recommended duration of treatment. This is because of inconsistent dose, unrequired repetitive usage, and misuse of Cefo Plus Suspension, infection-causing bacteria can develop resistance to Cefo Plus Suspension. This means that this Suspension will be no longer able to kill resistant germs, which can lead to reinfection.
No Cefo Plus Suspension will not cause weight gain in your child.
Other medicines or substances may interact with Cefo Plus Suspension. Before starting Cefo Plus Suspension, tell your doctor about any other medications your kid is currently using.
