Loftair Inhalation Capsule is a medicine used for the maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with COPD (a lung condition that obstructs airflow to the lungs making breathing difficult). It helps in controlling the symptoms such as wheezing and breathing difficulty. Loftair Inhalation Capsule contains Indacaterol and Glycopyrrolate as its main ingredient.
It works by relaxing the muscle of the airways. This medicine should not be used by a patient with a known allergy to Indacaterol, Glycopyrrolate or any other components. This inhaler should be used exactly as directed by your doctor and for the duration, it is prescribed.
This Inhalation Capsule may not be effective in controlling short term bronchospasm and asthma.
There is limited information available on the use of this medicine during pregnancy. However, a component of this medicine may prevent labour due to its effect on the uterus. Hence, this medicine should be not be used by a pregnant woman without a doctor's advice.
There is limited information available on the use of this medicine in lactating women. Hence, this medicine should be avoided if you are breastfeeding.
This medicine is unlikely to affect your ability to drive and use machines. However, this medicine may sometimes cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy after taking this medicine, do not drive or use machines.
No information is available on interactions of this medicine and alcohol when taken together. However, if you drink regularly, consult your doctor.
Talk to your doctor if
Overdose may lead to nausea, vomiting, dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, increased eye pressure, difficulties in passing urine. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital
In case you have missed any dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If its time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
Loftair Inhalation Capsule works by combined mechanism of its two ingredients. It dilates or relaxes the airways and relieves the symptoms such as difficulty in breathing, wheezing and coughing by making it easier for air to get in and out of the lungs.
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
In case you have allergic reactions like hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat that may cause difficulty in breathing or swallowing, stop taking this medicine and talk to your doctor immediately.
Do not use this medicine if you have a kidney as it may worsen the symptoms and can affect urinary functions.
Do not use this medicine for children because the safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established.
