Lipikind 10 tablet is a lipid-lowering medicine containing Atorvastatin, also known as Statins or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. The medicine decreases cholesterol synthesis in the body by inhibiting the enzymes responsible for cholesterol formation. Take the medicine before going to bed to gain optimum benefits.
Avoid consuming high-fat, fried and junk meals and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle to gain optimum benefits along with Lipikind 10 tablet. Atorva 10 tablets and Aztor 10 tablets also contain atorvastatin as its active ingredient.
If you suspect an overdose, inform your doctor immediately or visit your nearest hospital.
If you have missed taking a dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the forgotten dose and continue with the regular dose schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Cholesterol is made by the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase. Lipikind 10 tablet inhibits the enzyme and lowers bad cholesterol levels (LDL levels), triglyceride levels and other lipids or fats in the blood. It increases the good cholesterol levels known as high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels.
This medicine is not safe during pregnancy or if you are planning pregnancy. For a woman of childbearing age, discuss with the physician the importance of birth control methods and potential hazards to the unborn baby. If you are pregnant or might become pregnant, discontinue the treatment and seek a safer alternative.
Inform the doctor if you are breastfeeding, as there is little information available on the use of Lipikind 10 tablets during breastfeeding. Avoid unless prescribed after considering it to be essential and safe by the doctor.
It is safe to drive or operate tools and machines while using this medicine, as it does not inhibit or alter your ability to drive. However, if you experience any of the side effects associated with this medicine, restrain from driving or operating tools and machines.
Do not consume alcohol in large quantities as it may lead to high chances of liver damage.
