Ambroter Syrup is indicated for the treatment of cough associated with mucus production. Its mechanism involves thinning and loosening mucus in the respiratory tract, including the nose, throat, and lungs, thereby facilitating its expulsion through coughing. Additionally, it aids in relaxing and widening the muscles of the airways, which contributes to easier breathing.
This medication can be administered with or without food, strictly adhering to the dose and duration prescribed by a healthcare professional. The specific dosage is determined by the patient's medical condition and their response to the treatment. It is crucial to complete the full course of treatment as advised, as premature discontinuation may lead to symptom recurrence or worsening.
Common adverse effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, headache, skin rash, palpitations, tremors, and an increased heart rate. These effects are typically mild, transient, and resolve spontaneously. However, if any side effect persists or becomes bothersome, medical consultation is recommended.
This medicine may induce drowsiness; therefore, activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, should be avoided until the individual understands its effects. The Union Health Ministry advises against prescribing or dispensing cough and cold medications to children under two years of age. Such medications are generally not recommended for children under five years old.
For children above this age, use should be based on careful clinical evaluation and close medical supervision.
Ambroter Syrup is generally not recommended during pregnancy. Hence, it is recommended to avoid this medicine during pregnancy and use this only if it is prescribed by the doctor.
Ambroter Syrup is secreted into the breastmilk and may cause unwanted effects in the newborn baby. Hence, it is recommended to avoid this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
It has no effect on driving ability. However, if you experience any side effects, be cautious while driving or operating machinery.

Symptoms of an overdose include headache, anxiety, fits, abdominal cramps, irregular heartbeats and sometimes, a drop in blood pressure. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you have missed taking any dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one. Do not stop taking Ambroter Syrup without consulting your doctor.
This medicine is generally used for wet cough only. It helps to loosen up the mucous so that it can be removed easily through coughing. Your doctor will suggest you this medicine after examining you only, whether it's a dry cough or wet cough.
Ambroter Syrup does not contain any substances reported to become habit-forming. However, it is advised that this Syrup should not be used for more than the prescribed time. It also should not be used in any cough without consultation from a registered medical practitioner.
