Tobazest injection is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections such as septicemia, lower respiratory tract infections, meningitis (Serious CNS infections), intra-abdominal infections, skin, bone, and soft tissue infections. It contains tobramycin as the active ingredient. It works by stopping bacteria from making proteins they need to grow, which helps kill the bacteria and clear the infection.
Do not take Tobazest injection if you are allergic to tobramycin or other similar antibiotics. Always inform your doctor about any past allergic reactions to medications you have experienced. Some side effects include hearing loss, dizziness, kidney issues, allergic reactions, and nerve or skin problems.
Avoid using it with other medicines that can harm the kidneys or ears, and be careful if you're taking water pills or muscle relaxants. This medicine is usually given by a doctor or nurse. It’s not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary.
Avoid driving if you feel dizzy or unsteady, and avoid alcohol as it may worsen side effects. Always follow your doctor's advice and report any unusual symptoms.
Tobazest injection will be given in the hospital or clinic by the doctor or nurse as injection. Do not self-inject the medicine. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by the doctor or nurse.
If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it's important to discuss with your doctor whether the benefits of taking Tobazest injection outweigh the risks. Your doctor will carefully assess your situation before making any recommendations.
Avoid taking Tobazest injection while breastfeeding, as it may transfer in breastmilk and potentially cause damage to the baby’s kidneys, hearing, or balance system. Consult your doctor before taking Tobazest injection.
You should avoid driving or operating machines if you've taken Tobazest injection and experience dizziness, hearing problems, or balance issues, which are possible side effects.
There is no direct interaction between alcohol and Tobazest injection, but it’s best to avoid alcohol while taking it. Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness, kidney stress, or dehydration, which can make Tobazest injection less safe or effective.
Talk to your doctor if
Tobazest injection will be given to you by a doctor or nurse. Therefore, it is less likely that you may get an overdose of the medicine. If you experience symptoms right after taking the injection, seek medical help.
You will be monitored by a doctor or nurse for the correct timing of your Tobazest injection doses, so it is unlikely that a dose will be missed. However, if you think a dose may have been missed, inform your doctor or nurse immediately.
Tobramycin is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting the production of proteins necessary for bacterial growth. It does this by binding to a specific part of the bacteria’s structure, killing the bacteria and helping to treat the infection.
Before starting Tobazest injection, let your doctor know if you have any health conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, myasthenia gravis, or Parkinson’s disease. Also inform them if you’ve had any allergic reactions to tobramycin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives. It’s important to mention if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Tell your doctor right away if you experience serious side effects like allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue), bloody or watery diarrhea, breathing problems, hearing loss or ringing in the ears, dizziness, fainting, fever, balance problems, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, skin reactions like rash with fever and swollen lymph nodes, peeling or blistering skin (including inside the mouth), seizures, or trouble urinating. Some side effects, such as mild diarrhoea, headache, nausea, vomiting, or pain and redness at the injection site, usually don’t need medical attention unless they persist or become bothersome.
