Gp Safe Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine containing glimepiride as its active ingredient. It is used for lowering the blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet & exercise alone are not able to control your blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetes is a health condition in which your cells don’t respond normally to insulin.
Insulin is a hormone that regulates how your body utilises sugar. This leads to increased blood sugar that can further lead to serious health conditions. Gp Safe Tablet it works by increasing the amount of insulin produced in the body and thus lowering elevated blood sugar.
Take Gp Safe Tablet in doses and duration as prescribed by the doctor. It should be taken after having your food. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from before starting this medicine.
Side effects of Gp Safe Tablet include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain and hypoglycaemia. Consult your doctor if these side effects persists.
Gp Safe Tablets should not be used during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby, your doctor may switch to insulin therapy. Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy.
Glimepiride may pass into breast milk and should not be taken during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor regarding the use of Gp Safe Tablet while breastfeeding.
Be cautious not to drink alcohol on an empty stomach. Alcohol increases the risk of low blood sugar.
Talk to your doctor if
Symptoms of overdose are nausea, vomiting, and sleepiness. Immediately consume some sugar or sugar-containing drink. If the person has fainted, do not give food or drink. You must seek immediate emergency medical care if you suspect an overdose with Gp Safe Tablet.
Gp Safe Tablet is an antidiabetic medicine and needs to be taken for the prescribed duration. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own without informing your doctor.
Side effects associated with this medicine are nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. In case side effects do not resolve on their own, do not stop taking Gp Safe Tablet without informing your doctor.
