Pregnancy

Can I take Longacillin Injection during pregnancy?

Consult your doctor before taking Longacillin Injection during pregnancy. This injection can be used during pregnancy after careful consideration of the benefits and risks by the prescribing doctor. Tell your doctor if you are or may be pregnant before taking this injection.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Longacillin Injection while breastfeeding?

Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking Longacillin Injection. Components of this injection pass into breast milk. A breastfed baby should be watched for fungal infections of mouth and diarrhoea, if this happens discontinue breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Longacillin Injection?

Longacillin Injection can affect the ability to drive, hence avoid driving immediately after taking this injection.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Longacillin Injection?

Avoid consuming alcohol with Longacillin Injection as it is known to affect the immune response of an individual which is very critical in combating infection.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

• You have or ever had an allergic reaction to other antibiotics like penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
• You have any pre-existing medical condition.
• Your liver and kidneys are not functioning properly, in this case, dose adjustment may be required.
• You experience any allergic symptoms such as rashes, difficulty in breathing, itching after taking this injection.
• You have asthma, have a fever or any kind of previously known allergy.
• Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function may be required when you are taking this injection.
