Viskast Syrup is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used for the management of symptoms such as a runny and stuffy nose (allergic rhinitis), airway blockage, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and other allergic reactions.Viskast Syrup contains montelukast and levocetirizine as active ingredients.
It works by reducing airway constriction and swelling while blocking the production of chemicals responsible for allergy symptoms.It is recommended to take this medicine preferably at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness. Shake the bottle well before use.
Take it in the exact dose and for the prescribed duration. Before using Viskast Syrup, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, and provide your complete medical history. According to the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry, cough and cold medications should not be prescribed or dispensed to children under two years of age.
These medications are generally not recommended for children under five years old. For children above that age, any use should be based on careful clinical evaluation and close supervision.

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
No, it will not help in an acute attack of asthma. It is advised to take appropriate rescue medicine like inhalers given by your doctor during an asthma attack. Keep taking Viskast Syrup as well and do not stop it abruptly.
No, you should take this medicine for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Stopping this medicine in between the treatment may revert the allergic symptoms.
