Glimisave M 2 tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine. It contains glimepiride and metformin as its active ingredient. It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, a condition where blood sugar level rises above the normal range when it cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone.
This medicine lowers the raised blood glucose levels. You must follow a healthy diet and exercise along with the medicine. Glimisave M 2 tablet must be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed.
It must be taken with meals, with the first meal of the day. Before using the Glimisave M 2 tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about the detailed medical history. An individual with uncontrolled diabetes is at increased risk of various health complications such as eye, kidney and nerve problems, heart diseases and stroke.
It should be consumed as a whole without chewing or crushing with a sufficient amount of water with food.

Glimisave M 2 tablet composition includes glimepiride and metformin, which is an anti-diabetic medicine.

Nausea, indigestion, diarrhoea, altered taste, loss of appetite are a few common side effects that can be seen during the treatment. However, these symptoms are usually mild and go away with time.
No, you should not discontinue the treatment on your own. Keep taking this tablet even if your symptoms improve to help keep the disease under control as advised by your doctor for the specified duration. Gradual weening of the medication should be done to avoid adverse effects.
Sometimes it may increase the risk of drop in blood sugar level as a side effect. So try to take your meals on time while taking Glimisave M Tablet. However, if you experience any symptoms related to hypoglycaemia such as drowsiness, unconsciousness, confusion etc, immediately drink the juice or eat the chocolate bar. Note that artificial sweeteners are not of any use in such scenarios. Always keep a juice or a bar of chocolate in the car close to you while driving or if you have frequent episodes of hypoglycaemia.
