The primary ingredient in this medication is lactulose. You can take Livolax Syrup with or without food, but it's essential to use it consistently to maximize its benefits.

If you missed any dose of Livolax Syrup, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.
Lactulose is digested in the large intestine where the products absorb water into the pipe thereby softening the stools. In patients suffering from liver disease, Lactulose works by absorbing excess ammonia from the blood in the intestine.
