Foloup syrup is an antibiotic commonly prescribed to children for treating various bacterial infections affecting the ears, eyes, nose, throat, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. The active ingredient in Foloup syrup is cefpodoxime. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause infections.
Before giving this medicine to your child, inform your doctor if your child is allergic to any antibiotics or has experienced allergic reactions after taking them. The medicine must be given in the prescribed dosage for the specified duration. Always complete the full course of antibiotic treatment for your child; failing to do so or missing any doses can lead to treatment failure.
If you have missed giving any dose of Foloup syrup, then give it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
Cefpodoxime in Foloup syrup acts on the bacteria and controls their growth, resulting in the death of the bacteria.
