Endogest 400 Capsule is a medicine containing micronized progesterone, a man-made version of the natural female hormone essential for regulating the menstrual cycle and supporting pregnancy. This medicine is prescribed to address various gynaecological disorders and conditions that arise from insufficient levels of progesterone in your body. It works by supplying the necessary amount of this hormone and mimicking its natural actions, thereby helping to correct hormonal imbalances.
You may be advised to take this medicine for treating issues like premenstrual syndrome, absence or irregularity of periods, abnormal uterine bleeding, and infertility. This medicine plays a crucial role in supporting early pregnancy, particularly if you have experienced vaginal bleeding during the initial stages and have inadequate or low progesterone levels. It is also used to help prevent preterm delivery.
It is a key component of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for women during menopause, where it is typically given along with estrogen to alleviate symptoms and protect the uterine lining. The medicine is also used to support pregnancy and fertility outcomes during assisted reproductive procedures. You must use Endogest 400 Capsule strictly as directed by your doctor.
When prescribed for oral use, you should take the capsule one hour before or one hour after a meal. If your doctor advises vaginal or rectal use, you must wash your hands before application and use the provided applicator for insertion into the vagina or rectum. You should not use any other product on the vagina or rectum unless instructed by your doctor.
