Efnocar 40 Tablet contains Efonidipine, an anti-hypertensive medicine. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It can also be used for the treatment of angina, a type of chest pain caused by the reduced blood supply to the heart.
It works by widening the blood vessel by relaxing the wall of blood vessels. Due to the widening of blood vessels, blood passes through them more easily which further decreases blood pressure. It also works by excretion of sodium through urine.
It also relieves chest pain by improving blood supply to the heart muscle. Heart muscle receives more oxygen due to improvement in the blood supply. Headache, palpitation (feeling of heartbeat), flushing of the face, hot flushes are common side effects of this medicine.
If side effects do not go away on their own or your condition doesn't improve over time then inform your doctor.
Limited information is available on the safety of this medicine in pregnancy. Use in pregnant pregnant women is not recommended.
It is not known whether components of this medicine passed in breastmilk. This medicine should not be taken by lactating mother.
This medicine can cause dizziness. Avoid driving if you have dizziness after taking this medicine.
Consumption of alcohol with this medicine can interfere with the working of this medicine and also increases the side effects of this medicine. Avoid alcohol consumption if you are taking this medicine.
Talk to your doctor if
Symptoms of overdose include dizziness, fainting, redness of skin etc. If you have taken too much of this medicine then contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
If you have missed taking any dose of this medicine then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.

Efnocar 40 Tablet can cause flushing of the face as a side effect. Flushing of the face is caused due to widening of superficial blood vessels of the face due to this medicine.
Efnocar 40 Tablet should be taken in dose and duration as advised by your doctor. If you stop taking the Efnocar tablet, your blood pressure may rise again. If your blood pressure is under control with this medicine without any side effects you can take Efnocar 40 Tablet until your doctor tells you to stop.
Efnocar 40 Tablet is prescribed to you by your doctor for high blood pressure. Along with medication, certain lifestyle changes should be adopted such as reduced salt intake, daily routine exercise such as walking, diet low in saturated fatty acid etc.
If your blood pressure becomes lower than normal blood pressure after taking the Efnocar tablet, the dose reduction of this medicine is needed. Consult your doctor immediately for further management.
