Dolowin injection is used to relieve short-term pain, especially after surgery or injury. It helps reduce inflammation, swelling, and discomfort. It contains aceclofenac as an active ingredient.
It works by blocking the action of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and swelling. It should not be used if you have allergies to it or its ingredients, a history of stomach ulcers, severe kidney problems, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is also not suitable if you have had allergic reactions to similar pain relievers.
Some people may experience side effects like nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, or diarrhoea. More serious effects can include liver or kidney issues, especially in older adults or people with existing health problems. The medicine can interact with other drugs like lithium, blood thinners, diabetes medicines, and other painkillers.
Always tell your doctor about all medicines you're taking before using them. Inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or stomach problems, or if you experience symptoms such as black stools or a skin rash. Also, avoid driving if you feel dizzy and limit alcohol intake while on this medicine.
Dolowin injection is contraindicated in pregnancy. The regular use of NSAIDs during the last trimester of pregnancy may decrease uterine tone and contraction. NSAIDs use may result in premature closure of the foetal ductus arteriosus in utero and possibly persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, delay onset and increase duration of labour.
Dolowin injection should not be given during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor if you are breastfeeding, as they will advise you on the use of this medicine after assessing the benefits and risks.
Patients suffering from dizziness, vertigo, or other central nervous system disorders should refrain from driving or handling dangerous machinery while taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
No known interactions with alcohol.
Talk to your doctor if
Your doctor or nurse will give this injection. Therefore, it is less likely to provide you with more or less of this medicine. However, if you experience loose motions, nausea, vomiting and fits immediately after taking this injection, inform your doctor as soon as possible.
You will be monitored by the doctor or nurse as to when Dolowin injection should be given to you. Thus, it is unlikely that a dose of the injection will be missed. If the doctor or nurse might have missed a dose, inform them.
Aceclofenac works by blocking the action of certain natural substances in the body called prostaglandins. These substances are responsible for causing pain, swelling, and inflammation. Aceclofenac inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX) from producing prostaglandins, which helps reduce pain and inflammation in conditions such as arthritis, back pain, and other musculoskeletal problems.
Dolowin injection is generally not recommended for children. Always follow your doctor’s advice.
Yes, it may cause stomach pain, ulcers, or bleeding. Take it with food if advised, and report any stomach pain or unusual symptoms to your doctor.
