Overview

Dilnip Tm tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains a combination of three antihypertensive medications: metoprolol, cilnidipine, and telmisartan. This medication is prescribed when a single medication is not sufficient to manage high blood pressure effectively.

Dilnip Tm tablet works by inhibiting certain receptors on your blood vessels responsible for the constriction of blood vessels. This relaxes and widens the blood vessels, reducing blood pressure. It inhibits angiotensin II, a naturally occurring substance that narrows blood vessels and raises blood pressure.

By blocking this substance, Dilnip Tm tablet allows blood vessels to relax, thereby further contributing to a lowering of blood pressure. Dilnip Tm tablet should be taken precisely as instructed by your doctor. Avoid missing any doses or discontinuing it without consulting your doctor.

Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose may include low blood pressure, an irregular heartbeat, heart failure, shock, loss of consciousness, coma, nausea, vomiting, a bluish tint to the lips, tongue, and skin, low levels of potassium or calcium in the blood, dizziness, and kidney failure. In the event of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Limit the intake of salt in your diet, especially pickles and packaged foods like chips, which contain excess salt and should be avoided
Have less potassium-containing foods like spinach, broccoli or banana
Limit meat intake in your diet.
Instead of having packaged snacks, prefer fresh-cut fruits as they are rich in vitamins and fibre.

What will be the consequences if I stop this medication on my own?

If you stop this medicine suddenly, you can suffer from chest pain, irregular heartbeat or a heart attack. Your doctor might tell you to decrease the dose gradually. Don’t suddenly stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor.
