Dianorm Total Tablet is a combination medicine containing gliclazide, pioglitazone and metformin. They belong to the anti-diabetic class of medicines. It is used to treat type 2 diabetes and works by lowering blood sugar levels.
It is used when diet, exercise and the single agents and the second-line therapy with two medicine fail to achieve the desired blood sugar level. This medicine should not be used in children below 18 years of age. Inform your doctor about all the medical conditions you have or had.
Take this medicine regularly at the same time to get optimal benefits. Your doctor will decide the best-suited dose for you and this may change from time to time depending on how it is working to control your blood sugar levels.
Dianorm Total Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Take it at a fixed time for optimal results. Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

If you experience any of the side effects of this medicine like visual disturbances, dizziness, lower sugar level than normal then avoid driving.
You cannot consume alcohol while on this medicine. However, if you have a habit of consuming it daily talk to your doctor.

Excess of Dianorm Total Tablet can cause decreased blood sugar level characterised by sweating, increased thirst, dizziness. It can also lead to disturbances in the body's acid-base balance and in rare circumstance coma and fits. If you experience any of the symptoms or think you have taken too much of this medicine, then contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you have missed any dose of Dianorm Total Tablet, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
You will experience the signs of low blood glucose levels such as sweating, dizziness, headache and increased heart rate. To prevent this episode, it's important to have meals at regular time intervals daily and always carry glucose-containing food such as sugary food, chocolate or fruit juice with you.
