The SenSura Extended Wear Light Convex Baseplate is a component of a two-piece ostomy management system. This baseplate is designed to create a secure seal around the stoma, particularly for stomas that are retracted or situated within skin folds. Its light convex shape is engineered to apply gentle pressure to the peristomal skin, which can assist in promoting stoma protrusion.

This feature aims to minimize the potential for leakage by creating a more accessible stoma for bag attachment. The baseplate utilizes a double-layer adhesive technology, comprising a protection layer and a skin care layer. The protection layer acts as a barrier against stoma output, while the skin care layer is formulated to absorb excess moisture, contributing to the maintenance of peristomal skin health.

The baseplate is equipped with a mechanical coupling system that allows for the secure attachment of an ostomy bag. This coupling mechanism is designed to provide an audible confirmation, often referred to as a "click," when the bag is properly and securely connected to the baseplate, offering assurance of a firm seal. The design permits 360-degree rotation of the ostomy bag relative to the baseplate before it is locked into position, allowing for adjustment of the bag's orientation for user comfort and discretion.

Belt ears are integrated into the design, providing an option for additional security and support through the use of an ostomy belt. This baseplate is available in a 70mm flange size, with a cutting range of 12-53 mm, accommodating a variety of stoma sizes. It is suitable for use with ileostomy and colostomy diversions.
