Colipam Tablet is used as a pain-relieving and anti-spasmodic medicine. It is used for relieving spasmodic pain associated with stones in the kidney or gallbladder. It is also helpful in treating blockage or obstruction in the intestine and menstrual pain and cramps.
It is a combination medicine containing paracetamol and dicyclomine as its active ingredient. Before taking this Tablet, you should tell your doctor about your complete medical and medication history. It should not be used in children below 12 years of age.
Take the Tablet exactly as your doctor tells you to take it. Your doctor will tell you how many Colipam Tablets to take and when to take them.
Colipam Tablets can be used during pregnancy only if prescribed by your doctor.
The components of Colipam Tablet passes into human milk. Hence, this medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
Colipam Tablet may make you dizzy and feel sleepy. You should avoid driving if you do not feel well or are unable to be alert.
There is limited information about the effects of Colipam Tablet on alcohol. However, there is a risk of liver damage in chronic alcoholics and people with liver problems if you are taking this medicine and consume alcohol along.
Talk to your doctor if
An overdose of Colipam Tablet may cause headache, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, dilated pupils and dry skin. In case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
If you missed any dose of Colipam Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
You should avoid taking this medicine in an empty stomach to avoid stomach discomforts.
Colipam Tablet is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.
Yes, it can be used for relieving the cramps and pain during and before menses.
Colipam should not be used for more than 7 days unless told by the doctor. If the pain persists, consult your doctor. It should preferably be taken with food or after food.
Constipation is one of the side effects that can be seen in some individuals during the treatment with Colipam. Although not everyone gets them. Side effects often improve as your body gets used to the medicine.
