Pregnancy

Can I take Cefoprox Xp Injection during pregnancy?

Since there is limited safety data available on the use of Cefoprox Xp in pregnant women, Cefoprox Xp Injection must only be used during pregnancy (in particular in the first trimester of pregnancy) if considered essential by your doctor after assessing the benefits over risks.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Cefoprox Xp Injection while breastfeeding?

• Components of Cefoprox Xp Injection pass into breast milk. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding, your doctor will tell you about the use of this medicine after assessing the need and benefit.
• If prescribed, monitor your child closely for antibiotic-related side effects like diarrhoea or fungal infection of the mouth.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Cefoprox Xp Injection?

You may feel dizzy after taking Cefoprox Xp Injection, thus be cautious or avoid driving after taking this Injection.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Cefoprox Xp Injection?

Alcohol may worsen the side effect like dizziness along with Cefoprox Xp Injection. It is advisable to avoid alcohol if you have taken this Injection.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

• You have a history of allergy after taking the antibiotic.
• You have developed diarrhoea after taking Cefoprox Xp Injection, immediately inform your doctor.
• You have recently received or are going to receive any product containing calcium.
• You have serious liver and kidney disease.
• You are on a (low sodium) diet.
• You are suffering from gall bladder disease.
• You have anaemia.
• You are suffering from any bowel inflammation disease (colitis).
