Invictum Injection contains Teicoplanin, an antibiotic active against various Gram-positive bacteria. It is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections, particularly those caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other resistant Gram-positive organisms. These infections may include complicated skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia, and endocarditis.
Teicoplanin is also used in the treatment of peritonitis associated with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). This medication is administered intravenously or intramuscularly by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinical setting. Self-administration is not recommended due to the need for precise dosing and monitoring.
Patients should inform their physician about their complete medical history, including any kidney impairment, allergies, or concurrent medications. It is crucial to disclose if pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, as the safety profile in these conditions requires careful medical evaluation.
