Bepride Tablet contains glimepiride, an active ingredient used as an anti-diabetic medication. It is prescribed to lower blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus when dietary modifications and exercise alone are insufficient to manage blood sugar. Type 2 diabetes is characterized by the body's cells not responding normally to insulin, a hormone vital for regulating sugar utilization.
This leads to elevated blood sugar, which can result in serious health complications over time. Bepride Tablet functions by stimulating the pancreas to produce a greater amount of insulin, thereby reducing high blood sugar levels. This medication should be taken in the doses and for the duration specified by a healthcare professional, typically after food.
Patients should inform their doctor about any existing pregnancies, plans for pregnancy, breastfeeding status, current medications, supplements, or pre-existing medical conditions before initiating treatment. Common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, and hypoglycemia. Persistent side effects should be discussed with a doctor.
Symptoms of overdose are nausea, vomiting, and sleepiness. Immediately consume some sugar or sugar-containing drink. If the person has fainted, do not give food or drink. You must seek immediate emergency medical care if you suspect an overdose with Bepride Tablet.
Bepride Tablets should not be used during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby, your doctor may switch to insulin therapy. Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy.
Glimepiride may pass into breast milk and should not be taken during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor regarding the use of Bepride Tablet while breastfeeding.
Be cautious not to drink alcohol on an empty stomach. Alcohol increases the risk of low blood sugar.
