Aziber 100mg Tablets contain azithromycin, an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of a range of bacterial infections. These include respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, as well as infections affecting the sinuses, ears, throat, lungs, and skin. It is also effective against certain sexually transmitted infections, including gonorrhoea and chlamydia.
Azithromycin functions by inhibiting the synthesis of essential bacterial proteins, thereby preventing bacterial growth and multiplication. Adherence to the prescribed dosage and completion of the full course of treatment are crucial to ensure complete eradication of the infection and to minimize the risk of antibiotic resistance. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, and indigestion; these are generally mild and transient.
Rare but serious reactions, such as allergic responses (skin rash, itching, swelling, shortness of breath), require immediate medical attention. Patients should inform their physician about pregnancy, breastfeeding, existing medical conditions, and all concurrent medications or supplements before initiating treatment to prevent potential drug interactions.
Symptoms of Aziber tablet overdose include diarrhoea, hearing loss, and nausea. In case of suspected overdose, inform your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention.
