Aviflox Tz is a combination medication containing Ofloxacin and Tinidazole, both antimicrobial agents. It is prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial and parasitic infections. Specific conditions for which it may be indicated include giardiasis, amebiasis, vaginal infections, kidney or bladder infections, and respiratory tract infections.
Ofloxacin functions by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, leading to bacterial cell death. Tinidazole acts by reducing its nitro group, forming reactive cytotoxic intermediates that damage bacterial DNA and other macromolecules. Prior to administration, patients should inform their physician about pre-existing conditions such as genetic disorders, seizure history, muscle weakness following antibiotic therapy, diabetes, blood pressure irregularities, cardiac conditions, renal impairment, intestinal inflammation, severe dermatological issues, myasthenia gravis, neuropathic pain, hepatic disease, or psychiatric disorders.
Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Potential side effects include altered taste sensation, nausea, fatigue, gastrointestinal upset, vomiting, weight fluctuations, headache, dizziness, sleep disturbances, pruritus, diarrhea, or constipation. Medical consultation is advised if adverse effects persist or intensify.
Take Aviflox Tz as a whole with a sufficient amount of water. Adhere to the prescribed time interval between doses and do not modify the dosage unless directed by a physician.
Components of Aviflox Tz can affect bone growth and development in a fetus. Therefore, its use is contraindicated during pregnancy.
This medication is excreted in breast milk. Women receiving this medication should not breastfeed for at least 3 days after the last dose. Monitor the infant for signs of oral fungal infection or diarrhea.
Aviflox Tz may induce dizziness, sleepiness, visual disturbances, or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if these symptoms occur.
