Aviclin Gel helps to reduce acne, whiteheads, and blackheads. It contains clindamycin and nicotinamide as its active ingredients. Nicotinamide, or niacin, is a form of vitamin B3, while clindamycin is an antibiotic.
It is intended for external application only and should be applied precisely as recommended by your doctor. Excessive use of makeup and other products on your skin should be avoided whilst using Aviclin Gel . Avoid popping acne, as this may lead to the spread of bacteria and pus on the skin, which can exacerbate acne and result in scarring.
You may experience some side effects from this , such as skin dryness, itching, and a burning sensation. Please inform your doctor if you notice that the side effects persist or worsen.
Aviclin Gel is for topical use, and the quantities which might get absorbed from the skin is too little. The chances of any effect on pregnancy are rare. However, this gel should be used only under the supervision of a medical professional. If you are prescribed this gel, avoid using it on larger skin areas for an extended period.
Consult your doctor before using Aviclin Gel while breastfeeding. If prescribed, it should not be applied on the breast or areas near the breast in the case of breastfeeding mothers as there can be chances of ingestion of this gel by a breastfed infant. Avoid using it on large areas of skin or for a prolonged period.
There is limited information about the effects of Aviclin Gel on driving, but as it is a topical preparation, it may not affect the driving ability or ability to handle machinery.
There is no direct interaction between Aviclin Gel and alcohol. However, alcohol is known to worsen the skin infection and inflammation. It's better to avoid consuming alcohol when you are prescribed with this ointment.
Talk to your doctor if
Aviclin Gel is meant to be applied externally on the skin, thus cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have overapplied it, wipe out the excess gel with a clean tissue or cotton.
If you have missed applying Aviclin Gel , apply it as soon as possible. Do not overapply this medicine just to compensate for the missed dose.
