Clovet M tablet is a combination medication used to treat high blood pressure. The active ingredients in Clovet M tablet are metoprolol and chlorthalidone, which work by relaxing the blood vessels, reducing the strain on the heart, lowering blood pressure, and increasing the excretion of water and sodium from the body through urine. Take Clovet M tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, adhering to the recommended dosage and duration of treatment.
Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor. Its use is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. You may experience mild side effects such as nausea, tiredness, dizziness, and headache.
However, if these symptoms worsen or persist, contact your doctor immediately. Do not abruptly discontinue this medicine, as it may lead to a hypertensive crisis or even heart failure. Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, and provide details of your medical history.
Clovet M tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine. It is best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results. You should not consume Clovet M tablet more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Clovet M tablet is not recommended during pregnancy unless prescribed by your doctor. Inform your doctor about the pregnancy and also if you think you may be pregnant.
Clovet M tablet passes into breast milk in small quantities; therefore, consult your doctor before taking the Clovet M tablet while breastfeeding.
Clovet M tablet may make you feel dizzy or sleepy. Be cautious while driving after taking this medicine
Do not consume alcohol with Clovet M tablet, as it may worsen the side effects.
Talk to your doctor if
Excess of Clovet M tablet may cause decreased heart rate, low blood pressure, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting and coma. If you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor or reach out to the nearest hospital immediately.
If you have missed taking any dose of Clovet M tablet, then take it as soon as you remember. If it is already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
Clovet M tablet functions by relaxing blood vessels and slowing the heart rate. This process reduces the workload on the heart for effectively pumping blood. Clovet M tablet lowers blood pressure by promoting the excretion of water and sodium through urine.
It is advised to keep taking Clovet M tablet as long as advised by your doctor. You should not stop taking Clovet M tablet without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well. Do not stop this medicine on your own. Abrupt discontinuation can worsen the disease condition.
It is advised to avoid the intake of potassium rich diet or potassium supplements while on treatment. The doctor might ask for regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes level while on the treatment with Clovet M tablet.
Based on your underlying condition, your doctor will prescribe it to you for a few days or a prolonged duration. Take this medicine daily only if the doctor has prescribed it to you; visit your doctor regularly to get your blood pressure checked.
