Indofen Injection is a medication used to alleviate pain and inflammation. It contains diclofenac as the active ingredient. This medicine is used to relieve acute pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and pain following surgery, as well as discomfort arising from dental procedures and trauma.
It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandin, a chemical responsible for the sensation of pain, swelling, and inflammation. The medication will be administered as an Injection by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the underlying condition.
Before starting treatment, you should inform the doctor if you smoke, have diabetes, a blood clotting disorder, a heart condition, or similar issues.
Due to lack of safety information this medicine is not recommended in pregnant women, especially during the last trimester of pregnancy. If you think you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, seek immediate medical advice.

Avoid driving if you experience dizziness, visual disturbance, spinning head, sleepiness, or drowsiness while on treatment.
Although there is no known interaction with alcohol and Indofen Injection, it is essential to consult the physician if you have a habit of regular drinking. Consuming alcohol while taking pain killers is known to increase the risk of bleeding, ulcer and perforation in the stomach and intestine (upper gastrointestinal tract).

Indofen Injection will be given by a doctor or nurse thus the chances of an overdose are unlikely. You may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, unconsciousness, excitation, dizziness, drowsiness. Inform the doctor or seek medical help.
It is unlikely that a dose of the Injection will be missed if you are monitored in a healthcare setup. However, if you have missed taking a dose of the Injection, inform the doctor or nurse immediately.
Indofen Injection interfere with the production of a chemical called prostaglandins, which is responsible for the sensation of pain and swelling. It reduces pain and swelling.
It varies among individuals depending on the physiological nature of an individual. The effects last for 12 hours.
