The 3M Littmann Classic III Stethoscope is a diagnostic acoustic instrument designed for a wide range of medical assessments. It features a double-sided chestpiece constructed from precision-machined stainless steel, offering durability and acoustic integrity. The chestpiece is designed with a less angular, aesthetically pleasing shape.

This model includes tunable diaphragms on both the adult and pediatric sides. The tunable diaphragm technology allows for the auscultation of both high and low frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure applied to the chestpiece. Light pressure is used to detect low-frequency sounds, while firmer pressure is utilized for higher-frequency sounds.

The single-piece diaphragms are designed for ease of removal, attachment, and cleaning, featuring smooth surfaces without crevices. The pediatric side of the chestpiece can be converted into a traditional open bell by replacing the diaphragm with a non-chill sleeve, enhancing its versatility. The stethoscope utilizes single-lumen tubing, which aids in the detection of normal and abnormal sounds and rhythms.

This next-generation tubing is formulated to resist stains and provide extended durability, with improved resistance to skin oils and alcohol. The materials used in the construction of this stethoscope, including the tubing and all other components, are free from natural rubber latex and phthalate plasticizers, contributing to both human health and environmental considerations. The headset is designed for easy adjustment to ensure individual fit and comfort for the user.

The stem incorporates an open side indicator for user convenience. The overall length of the tubing is 27 inches, and the instrument weighs approximately 150 grams. This particular configuration features a Raspberry-colored tube and a chestpiece with a Rainbow finish.
