From verified doctors to a fast-growing patient base, here's how Doctar (doctar.in) has been reshaping how Indian families find and book healthcare β quarter by quarter.

Most people don't think about healthcare platforms until they need one urgently β a father needs a cardiologist, a mother needs a diagnostic scan, a grandparent needs a nurse to visit at home. In those moments, what matters isn't flashy marketing; it's whether the doctor is real, the hospital is legitimate, and the booking actually happens without a dozen phone calls.
That's the problem Doctar (doctar.in) was built around, and over the past few months we've written separately about what makes the platform different, our progress through May, and our growth through June. This piece pulls all of that together into one place β what Doctar is, how it works, and how far it's come in a single quarter.
Doctar didn't set out to be another directory of phone numbers and clinic addresses. The starting question was simpler and harder: how do you help a patient know, before they ever step into a hospital, that the doctor is qualified and the reviews are real?
Our answer was to build the platform around three commitments that shape everything else:
Rankings earned, not bought. Doctors and hospitals rise on Doctar based on verified credentials and documented outcomes β not advertising budgets. A listing near the top of a search result earned that position.
Money changes hands directly. Doctar never processes patient payments. You pay your doctor or hospital when you're there, in person, with zero booking fees or platform commissions sitting in between.
Reviews come from real visits only. Under our "Visit-First" policy, only patients who've actually completed an appointment can leave feedback β which keeps the review count smaller but the trust level much higher.
The platform now covers the entire arc of a typical healthcare need, not just doctor appointments:
OPD consultations β searching and comparing specialists by condition, location, or specialty before booking
Surgical care β connecting with partner hospitals for procedures like joint replacement, cataract surgery, angioplasty, and gallbladder removal, with estimated pricing shown upfront
Diagnostic bookings β scheduling lab tests and imaging through verified diagnostic centers
Emergency support β quickly finding the nearest hospital or emergency department when time matters most
Home healthcare β arranging nurses, physiotherapists, or compounders to visit patients at home, especially useful for elderly care or post-surgery recovery
Pharmacy delivery β ordering prescriptions and health products through partner pharmacies
The clearest sign that something is working isn't a slide deck β it's more people showing up. In April 2026, around 7,180 patients found their way to Doctar through a simple Google search. That number grew to over 24,400 in May, and by June it had climbed past 40,400 β a pattern of steady, compounding growth rather than a one-off spike.
That kind of steady climb usually isn't accidental. It tends to follow two things happening together: more doctors, hospitals, and diagnostic centers coming onto the platform, and the platform itself becoming searchable in more cities than before. In other words, growth followed substance β more real, verified options for patients β rather than the other way around.
70,000+ verified doctors, hospitals, and diagnostic centers listed
300+ cities live, with an active roadmap toward 1,260 cities across India
4.8 out of 5 average rating across verified, visit-confirmed patient reviews
Growth in patient numbers is a useful signal, but it's not the goal by itself β it's a byproduct of doing the underlying work well. Over the coming months, that work means going deeper on doctor and hospital profile quality, extending coverage into cities that still have no listings, and onboarding more hospitals and diagnostic partners so patients have more genuine choices, not just more search results.
If you need to find a doctor, plan a surgery, book a diagnostic test, or arrange care at home for a family member, you can search directly at doctar.in or call our patient helpline at +91-8877772277, available daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Does Doctar charge patients any fee to book? No. There's no booking fee or platform charge β you pay the doctor or hospital directly at the time of your visit.
How are the doctors and hospitals on Doctar verified? Each listing goes through a credential and specialization check before going live, and hospitals join through formal partnership agreements rather than open self-registration.
Can I use Doctar to plan a surgery? Yes β you can connect with partner hospitals for a range of surgical procedures, with estimated pricing shown upfront so you can plan financially in advance.
Does Doctar offer care at home? Yes. Nurses, physiotherapists, and compounders can be booked for home visits β commonly used for elderly patients or anyone recovering from a hospital stay.
Why are Doctar's reviews considered trustworthy? Because only patients who've actually completed a visit can leave a review, under our Visit-First policy β which filters out fake or paid ratings.
How many cities does Doctar currently cover? Doctar is live in 100+ cities today, with a plan to expand to 1,260 cities across India.
