1. Preparation: Your eye will be numbed using eye drops and possibly injections to ensure you don't feel pain.
2. Focusing the Laser: A special contact lens is placed on your affected eye. This lens helps the eye care professional focus the laser beam precisely onto the abnormal blood vessels in your retina.
3. Sealing Blood Vessels: The laser beam is used to carefully burn and seal off the leaking blood vessels. This stops the leakage and prevents further damage to the macula.
