Mofecon-S 360 Tablet DR is a medicine used to prevent the body from rejecting a newly transplanted organ. It contains mycophenolate mofetil, which works by suppressing specific immune system responses that can attack the transplanted organ. By controlling the immune system, Mofecon-S 360 Tablet DR helps protect the organ and increases the chances of successful transplantation.
This medicine is often used in combination with other immunosuppressive medications prescribed by your doctor. The combination helps provide stronger protection against organ rejection while balancing the overall immune response. Regular use as prescribed is essential to maintain the health of the transplanted organ.
You should take Mofecon-S 360 Tablet DR exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose and treatment duration depend on your type of transplant, body weight, and response to therapy. Do not skip doses or stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor, as this may increase the risk of organ rejection.
Before starting Mofecon-S 360 Tablet DR, inform your doctor about your complete medical history, including infections, liver or kidney problems, or any other chronic conditions. Also, provide a list of all other medications, supplements, or herbal products you are taking, as they may interact with this medicine. This helps ensure safe and effective treatment tailored to your health needs.
Common side effects may include mild stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, or headache. If you experience persistent or severe side effects, contact your doctor immediately. Along with taking this medicine, it is important to follow your doctor’s advice regarding diet, hygiene, and monitoring to reduce the risk of infections and support the success of your organ transplant.
If you have missed to take any dose of this medicine, then take it as soon as you remember. If it's already time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular dosing schedule.
When our body encounters a foreign substance (bacteria, virus, fungus, transplanted organs or grafts), the immune system attacks it to protect the body. Normally this defence mechanism helps us, but in cases of organ transplant, the transplanted organ is also identified as a foreign body by our immunity and is attacked by it. Mofecon S Tablet is given to such patients as it suppresses the immune response and prevents rejection of a kidney, liver or heart transplant or graft.
